SolidWorks users can now get instant price quotes for layered production parts from the security of their SolidWorks application. During quoting, your SolidWorks model and its geometry stay safely on your machine. When you give the system permission to upload, a special STL file is uploaded over a secure Internet connection. Your SolidWorks model never leaves your computer.

  2. Choose "RedEye RPM" from the "Name" drop-down.
  3. Choose "Number of copies".
  4. Choose "Material".
  5. Click on "Update Statistics". The estimated cost will be calculated and appear under "Build statistics".
Note: Certain geometries, large parts, large number of copies and certain materials will require a Manual Quotation.
  6. Click "OK" to continue to the RedEye RPM Web site where you can adjust your quote and then order, forward or save for future use.
Note: To continue on RedEye RPM you will be required to login.
  7. By keeping both the RedEye Web site and SolidWorks open, you will be able to return to SolidWorks and open addtional 3D files and add them to the current quote. Simply follow steps 1 - 6 above for each additional part.

NOTE: Not all of the functions in the SolidWorks 3D print driver interface are enabled. See Details Below:

Build Orientation Tab: We do not currently have the ability to honor the build orientation. Based on the geometry and feature details, RedEye RPM personell will build your parts in the best orientation tyring to keep in consideration functionality and aesthetics.

Build Envelope: The Build Envelope dimensions may not display the proper values for each material chosen. Please visit the materials page for more information on build envelopes. Even if your part is too large, we do offer the service to split parts, build, then glue together again before shipping.

Scale: This function does not properly scale the part before sending to RedEye RPM. If you require to prototype your part in a different size, please scale in SolidWorks first.

Print Quality: We do not currently have the ability to honor Print Quality settings. As with orientation, RedEye will take care in building your parts with the best options.

Build time: Build time or estimated ship time is an average based on a typical order. Large parts and large quantities will require longer lead-times.
