Ball Screw Brake

Nexen's ball screw / stage brake is a high-torque, spring-engaged, air-released brake acting on the non-driven end of a ball screw.  It serves as a redundant safety brake in the event of a mechanical failure in the drive line, particularly in Z-axis applications.

This zero backlash brake and coupling provide a high degree of accuracy for holding the position of precision ball screws in power-off situations.  A clamp ring coupling connects the brake shaft to the end of the ball screw.
